MoTown Mushrooms is a small farm nested in Morristown, Vermont.
Our main goal is to educate people about the benefits of applied mycology while producing delicious and great looking gourmet mushrooms. We focus on hard-to-find species that naturally have high nutritional and medicinal properties.
We have top quality mushroom spawn and grow kits for indoor and outdoor cultivation, and firmly believe that everybody can and should be growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms.

Through education, we want to create a network of farmers, gardeners, chefs, and other fungal enthusiasts that will help expand the awareness of the benefits of applied mycology.
Born and raised in central Connecticut, Jason moved to Vermont in 1999 when, after a couple of semesters of college, he realized that traditional learning wasn’t his thing.
A little bit of a mad scientist and a lot of a McGyver, Jason pursued his passions, learning by trial and error. These passions include (but were not limited to) cooking, boat building, snowboarding, woodworking and engineering.
It was his culinary background that brought him into the world of fungi. Wanting more gourmet mushrooms than the short foraging season in Vermont could provide, Jason decided to grow his own. Soon enough, he was growing more than he and his wife Monica were able to consume, so he started selling the surplus to his chef friends.
When calls started pouring in requesting more fresh gourmet mushrooms, a business idea was born.
